Jacksonville Magazine

Spring of 2022

As a magazine intern at Jacksonville Magazine, I was able to further develop my communication and writing skills. I focused primarily on local features reporting and contributed to the development of the datebook calendar section and trivia quiz question section. The local features reporting I did had a primary focus on parks in the greater Jacksonville area. I commuted to these parks to gain insight on the area for reader. I also took still photos of the parks. I worked on a wedding section of the magazine, which required me to correspond with brides/grooms on their wedding story. Through features reporting, I worked on pieces about local business, restaurants, and family activities in the area. The datebook calendar was a process that required me to research events in the area over the course of a couple of months. The trivia quiz question section required me to research hidden and interesting history about the Jacksonville area. I also attended the Tim Coughlin 2022 Jay Fund Wine Gala event to take a variety of photos for the magazine. This specific internship helped me further develop skills with still photo shooting. I also worked to retrieve information, high-resolution photos, quotes, and anecdotal information for my team. I helped copyedit content in the magazine such as restaurant stories, top lawyers in the area and the pet section, which helped me with furthering my grammatical abilities.

The quiz section of the magazine tests readers knowledge on the Jacksonville area. I contributed to the brainstorming and development of these questions.

A photo spread of still photos. I took these photos at the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund 2022 Wine Gala Fundraiser.

This is an "Adventure Awaits" section of a recent magazine issue. The section talks about family friendly activities in and around Jacksonville. I contributed to this piece and helped write for it.
